I am stuck in 4-1, I can't get past the first big jump that has the spring. help!

Yeah, me too. . .
For some reason, I was able to do it in Super Mario All-Stars's version of the Lost Levels, but I can't do it in Super Mario Deluxe's Super Mario Bros. for Super Players. . .any assistance would be helpful. . .

I have the super mario all-stars and cannot get past the first jump in the lost levels world 4-1.

The best thing I can say is get a good running jump, jump off the right-most edge of the spring board, and continue holding 'run' as you fly through the air.
