Author Topic: Mario... lived in Brooklyn?  (Read 4661 times)

I know that I'm going against what the majority beleive, but I simply see no basis for the logic that Mario ever lived on Earth or in any locations that we know of.  The reason... it simply doesn't appear in the games, ever.

Yet many people seem to beleive this, and I'm wondering if there is some official word on it or something.  Anyone feel like enlightening me?

It's said that the Mario brothers were sent to live in Brooklyn to be safe from Bowser & baddies. In Brooklyn, they were sent to the sewers because there were reports of strange creatures. They investigated and jumped down the pipe and ended up back at the Mushroom Kindom... yada yada yada.

On TMK's front page, look to the left columns and go down until you see "A Little Insight on Mario" or something similar. Go to it to see the story.

Yes, I know, but it doesn't seem like there is any official source that recognizes this theory or idea.  All it seems to be is just some popular opinion with no basis.

The key to the mystery is, where did Donkey Kong take place?

Yeah, I mean, how could you not know specific ghettos in Brooklyn, Birdo. Come on now.

As far as the Mario Brothers living in Brooklyn; I don't believe the Super Mario Bros. Super Show is wrong. Ever.

Except, Donkey Kong could of also very easily taken place in Mushroom Kingdom.  Whose to say that there aren't places in the Kingdom that aren't industrialized?  After all, they are industrialized enough to have use for plumbers, and in SMS, we even saw an airplane.

Brooklyn is simply never mentioned in any official game source.

First of all, Mario was a carpenter in Donkey Kong, and second, Nintendo has officially stated that Mario is from Brooklyn. I can't remember where right off the top of my head, but I also am pretty sure that Mario Bros. took place in Brooklyn.
That was a joke.

I wonder...
Was Miyamoto aware of what he was doing when he first started creating Mario?
Or just maybe Nintendo of America, Inc. (as usual) had modified something in the general Super Mario scripts and designs...
