I got Donkey Konga 2 today.  It's better than I  thought it would be.  I like the original liked the original Mario w/ hammer, Donkey Kong, and walkway from Donkey Kong on the memory card screen.  I also liked how it had the Bongo sounds from Donkey Konga "1", but am not sure if there automatically in the game or from the DK file I have on the same memory card.  I'll look into it.

The songs aren't all my favs, but there more fun than I have anticipated.   I didn't know several of the songs by title, but recognized them when I played them.  I got gold DK's the first time I played the Monkey versions of two songs.  Even though it's not a good beat song, I still wanted "Wish You Were Here" to be the Pink Floyd song, but as I suspected, it was not.

A few new modes are also interesting.  I only played for a few minutes, so I'll have to edit this post to give a review of the game.

I still have to consider getting the first Donkey Konga if I am going to play Donkey Konga 2.

I hear the music on them isn't that great...

EDIT: After playing it at the Nintendo World block party, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I would still have to keep the volume down a bit, as it'll be pretty loud. There seems to be tons of mainstream music, though, which I dislike. It beats what I saw on the list of songs in the first Donkey Konga, though...

there's a lot of great songs in it. however, there's a lot of bad songs in it as well.

i like it, but i think Nintendo tried too hard to be hip in it.

i hope Donkey Konga 3 comes out here, as i hear there are a lot more game songs in it. something like... a mode where you play actual original songs straight from old NES games.

just stopping in for my once in a blue moon visit.

I don't plan on getting the second one since there are plenty of songs that are from today on it. I'm more intrested in the first Donkey Konga ever since I played it at a Gamestop one day and couldn't stop playing it.

My only real gripe with the Konga series is that it's become Donkey Kong's version of Mario Party, and there are barely any songs from the actual Donkey Kong games, despite being a Donkey Kong music game. Come on, DDR Mario Mix has tons of remixes of Mario tunes, so why can't games like DK Arcade, DKC, DKC2 and DKC3 get the same treatment? I know DKJB music is in Donkey Konga 3, but I hated that game. And the only DK tunes we've gotten so far I think is the SSBM version of Kongo Jungle and DK Rap.
