Granted, people are entitled to their own opinions, but 6.3/10 is to me way too low for MK64. I mean, ya, mathematically 5 is average (Assuming the scale goes from 0.0-10; if it is 1.0-10, 5.5 is average), but when you throw out the bad games that the developers put no thought into, I'd put an average mark for a first party endeavor at about 7. And I thought MK64 was a much better game than a 6.3 -- what I like to do is compare other game with similar marks to the game to see how "far off" the rating is. Have a link?
As for the Mario Party games, I stick to my thought that MP4-6 would've gotten substantially higher marker had they been MP1-3, not 4-6. That is, most of the low marks are the reviewer's way of saying "This isn't original anymore, guys. Stop please." I actually remember, in a video game mag (I can't remember which one), a reviewer, as part of a joke after a review for MP5, said that they'd give MP6 a score less than 2/10 (Under the assumption that the game couldn't possibly be made. Do not underestimate the lack of originality in anything today) if it did come out. Nintendo hasn't just made 6 of them -- they're now working on an 8th game in the series. (7 console ones and the advance one makes 8)
On this level, I have to concur with the editors: You can make 8 Mario Party games, and yet you can't even design a simple original 2D Mario platformer game for the GBA/GB:SP? [Bad place], I can design the levels for you if you're THAT scrapped for ideas!
You listening, Nintendo? ...
Of course not. Nintendo never listens to anyone anymore. Enjoy Mario Party 35.
