Get your N64 reconstructed in order to play in that format. If it was on the GCN, buying the Freeloader and a new Memory Card grants you the ability to play import games. That's how I got my hands on the Japanese Luigi's Mansion...

Actually, IGN has a
procedure
for fixing up the N64 to play Japanese carts. IIRC, the Japanese carts are a bit wider, so they cannot fit in the American console.
