I would like to point out to Mr. Melee that you cannot give yourself a nickname.

Sapph, does your mom realize she's calling you a guy?
That was a joke.

I have an bunch of nicknames and I'm not sure why I get them. I guess its because no one has ever heard of my name before, its Tevis so people tend to think its miss-spelled especially teachers who always add a "r" right after the "t" I have gotten Tev, T-man girl in my english class calls me that because its to hard to remember my name. Tetris so kids at this camp started calling me that. Golden boy because my name means a gold shilling in dutch. ( My stalker called me this.)
* neotev gets the shivers

Um I was called Goggie pronounced Gog- gee because I eat very little so they called me goggie which means bird in native-american.

and array of others that I cant think of right at this moment.

Hmm... As of late, I have mostly been called "Big E" by one of my suite mates at WSU (I'm not too fond of it). Another one of my nicknames stems from this prominent "E" sound: "Eebs." It's used only by relatives on my mother's side.

Suffix comes from a very brief but enjoyable moment in third grade, when classmates started calling me Suffix for a short time upon discovering that "ian" is a suffix.

One other nickname I can think of (which was just as brief, but not as enjoyable) was from Vacation Bible School's skit team, which I was in. The eldest actor guy started calling me "spaz bucket" due to my young, excitable nature.

I have a tendency to nickname everyone named Will/William that I meet. i.e., William Shakespeare, William Shatner, William Turner, Billy Dee Williams, Will Smith, William Forscythe,  Captain Wilhelm, and Wilhelm Scream. It used to be I'd do that with my friend, but now I'm going to do it to my nephew, once he's old enough to understand stupid nicknames.

People only ever call me by my real name in life, and most who don't know me question it. Considering I am a male and my name is Brook.
Ditto used Machop!

Brook, when looking at spelling only and not hearing it in your head, seems fine.

Brooke, with a silent e at the end, though, seems weirder for a guy to have. =P

Your name seems fine to me.

My nicknames include Mitch, MJ (first and middle name initials), Matey (by my dad, and no my father is not a pirate) and Mickey D (who is also a comedian).
If my son could decimate Lego cities with his genitals, I'd be [darn] proud.

I just had a sudden thought: do you think they'll go through this topic looking for names to use for Custom Title inspiration?

Also, I remembered that for a very short time, one of my friends attempted to call me Mario. There are two Jons(There's me [Jon] and then there's the other one [John]), and we both answer when someone says "Hey John/Jon" He (my friend) got tired of it and decided to call me Mario for like, a day. It didn't work.

The people at GameStop often call me Nintendo Kid, and given that my name is Franklin, I get the standard Frankie and Frank. I also answer to "The Man."

I also answer to "The Man."

You should go by "The Dude". It sounds more respectable, and more like a Big Lebowski reference.
