Nintendo finished up their E3 press conference a few hours ago, and we are sad to report that there is not much news for the Mario crew. NCL President Satoru Iwata touched on the success of New Super Mario Bros., but Wario Land: Shake It! and Mario Super Sluggers were conspicuously absent from the upcoming games shown during the hour-long conference.

Though no new Mario games were announced, we saw (and heard) Mario references in the upcoming Wii games Animal Crossing: City Folk and Wii Music. The big bro's shirt was clearly visible in the City Folk video, and the Super Mario Bros. theme was performed during the Wii Music live demo.

Meanwhile, on Nintendo of America's press site, the release of Wario Land: Shake It! was quietly moved up one week, from September 29 to September 22.

No, he said the Mario and Zelda teams are working, not that they're working on Mario and Zelda games.  Of course they're working!  It's not like they sit around doing nothing between games.  Remember that Mario Galaxy was made by the DK Jungle Beat team.   I think they're always playing around with what to do with the next Mario or Zelda game in any case, like the Mario 128 project, but that says nothing specific about future releases.

Of course they're not going to say anything specific until two days before the release, so they're not bound to their word if they want to change something.

Also Mario 128 eventually turned into Pikmin.

Apparently, Mario was hiding behind Miyamoto-san's jacket (partially.)

I was kind of annoyed about this, but, theres always the other conferences. Speaking of E3, are we doing a special on E3 this year?

Just to let you know; that's completely and totally irrelevant to what was just going on in this topic.

I guess I worded that wrong. I meant is TMK doing an E3 special this year?

I would like to watch this video of the press conference if there is one.  Would you mind posting a link to it?
