BEST - Super Mario 64, come on, it was classic.

WORST - Super Mario Sunshine
Ditto used Machop!

Best: Either Paper Mario or its sequel. If I had to choose one, I'd choose Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He just looks really good in that sharp-lines cartoony look, and in hindsight, it was good in the first game when he was laughing after defeating Mario at the beginning, just to give him a bit of a light-hearted personality. I mean, whenever Bowser does not look imposing or superior or macho, I like him. This is a good example of what I like. Again it may be the choice of a cartoony look, or that he looks cute and somewhat ridiculous rather than fearsome.

Worst: Tossup between Super Mario Sunshine or Super Mario Galaxy, but I'll give the disgraceful nod to Sunshine just for giving him a lame voice with English words. Look, if you're going to make him speak English, he'll have to be a lot more like the Bowser in the cartoons so it doesn't come off as awkward and embarrassing. I rated Super Mario Galaxy as second-worst because I don't like Bowser when he has that detailed bump-mapped shiny reptile skin. Jibblie jibblie.

Cartoon version of Bowser was pretty good too. Sure, he looked more like an artistic representation of his self from the first Super Mario Bros. game, but they made that work. Gave him a good voice, a funny personality... see, that's all I ask. The Koopalings meanwhile were sometimes on the creepy side, I just didn't like their cartoon selves as much as Bowser.

By the way, I just remembered seeing the Mario Power Tennis Bloopers on YouTube. Half the time it comes off as unfunny and uncomfortable, but there's some good bits. Bowser's more light-hearted here (someone remarked he does a rare non-evil laugh). We've seen the range of emotions that can appear on characters in Star Fox Adventures, Beyond Good & Evil, Half-Life 2, and so much more. Oh, and recently Zelda: Twilight Princess. I really want to see Bowser get more animated and have more of a personality, but I guess for now we'll have to rely on his Paper Mario appearances.

I think people in these threads don't know what "tacked on" means.
That was a joke.

Best: Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Even though he's working for Tabuu, it's nice to see him being his bad self again.

Worst: Super Mario Sunshine *cringes at that terrible piece of voice acting*

Hahahaha... "MARIO! How dare you disturb my family vacation!!"

Best: SM64

Worst: SMS

I considered voting SMG for best, but... Bowser's role in SMG seemed rather nutty. Compared to his quest to make a galaxy (more like a solar system) from which he can rule the universe, Bowser's decision to lock the castle's Power Stars in magic paintings makes perfect sense.

Best: SMG.  Bowser's personality and mannerisms got nailed in SMG.
Worst: SMB... I mean, come on!  He hid behind decoys the whole game!

Here and here.
Awesome!  I played them last night with my keyboard and think I just found something worth finding my HORI controller and USB adapter.  Too bad these can't be played online with a Wiimote.  On another note, I haven't been able to find my Super Famicom Wii controller since the move.

The Mario series is the best! It has every genre in video games but RTS'! It also has a plumber who does different roles, a princess, and a lot of odd creatures who don't seem to poop!

That's the one thing I want to see available through the Mario Club for America.

That and getting that Mario-on-Yoshi costumed guy at the baseball game to actually walk over to my seat for a change. Annoyed me that here I was and Yoshi's clear on the other side of the crowd. I thought I saw "Mario Club" on the banner, that's why I think it's related. Why Mario Club has been around for so long and never been in America baffles me. When growing up I thought the Super Power Stamps thing was the Mario Club, in a weird way. I really should have saved those stamps released in the magazines and bought a... uh... oh wait, I think that's how I got the Mario wallet, that's right.

Super Mario Club is a debug team at NCL, if that's what you're talking about. I don't think you are.
That was a joke.

That'd be Club Nintendo, with the Mario hat emblem. They get some pretty cool stuff... and some pretty lame Mario Party 8 playing cards. Oh boy, I've always wanted an eleven of hearts with Donkey Kong's mouth on it.

Okay, I'm thinking the Wii needs an N64 controller attachment more badly than a SF/SNES, due to the unique design of the N64 controller.
