Wario was a much better SML villain, of course we know where he ended up.

Yes, he ended up hilarious and interesting.

Brian: Tatanga shows up in SML2 in the space area.
Oh, yeah, right... I guess I just thought he was some generic space guy (never actually gotten past the level with the Chinese zombie guys in SML, I think).

Super Mario Land was a dreadful game if you ask me though.

Dreadful, how?

The physics are wacky, the enemies are too un-Mario-y, I'm not a fan of the Super Ball, etc.

The music is a redeeming quality though.

To it's credit, it was the first handheld Mario game, the first Mario game with more than one kind of background setting, the first Mario game with a princess other than Peach, and the first and only time Mario's ever been in a shmup.

Not to mention, there's a good chance that the Superball conceptually evolved into Egg shooting in Yoshi's Island.

I think the superball was more of a "we can't make fireballs bounce on the ground so let's do... THIS" type thing. I could be wrong though.
That was a joke.

If it weren't a handheld it might not have looked like crap.
I don't care who the princess is. In fact if SML were remade today I'd hate it because I'd be rewarded for beating it with "HI I'M DAISY!"
The Super Ball is more useless though because if a ground-bound enemy is not directly in front of you, you're not gonna hit it.

The Super Ball thing was kinda silly and because of its primitivity, I place SML way at the beginning of my fanmade Mario Timeline, taking place after Yoshi's Island Snes & DS mind you.

What's wrong? Does that statement just not make sense because of how it was worded? Or was it because there is no way SML takes place before SMB?

Chef, stop overreacting. I've made a few comments that don't have anything to do with Tatanga myself (see Wario comment).

Just chill.

I'm assuming everyone here knows Miyamoto wasn't really involved with SML.
