In today's Nintendo Direct, downloadable Wii games were showcased for Wii U. One of the first of these will be Super Mario Galaxy 2, available later today. For the first week, the game will be available for $9.99, but will be $19.99 afterwards.

Supported resolutions: 480i, 480p

Aw... I would've paid for HD even though I already have SMG2, Punch-Out!! and Metroid Prime Trilogy. It's still a good thing these games are being made available theoretically forever, but...

I'm with BP on Galaxy 2. I bought Yoshi's Island though.

Important note regarding the Wii VC on Wii U: You can't use the gamepad unless the original supported the classic controller.

If the classic controller was supported in the original game, the gamepad is mapped to classic controller 1.

Aw, and it would've been cool to see Galaxy 2 in HD without a super expensive computer...
