They're just too hard for me. The others might hate them though.

Hmmmm, Considering how most humans today hate hard things, I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyway, a hint for the evil question:

If you look for the answer in only one Mario game, you won't find it. You need to look at it through 2 or even more Mario games.

Here it is again. Fill in the blank with either a number or an "X" and explain why.

x x x x 5 10 x 9 x 8 x ___

(I am surprised Fifth hasn't swooped in and answered both of them...)

Absolutamente nada. Era el mejor desicion de mi vida. Mi vida no bastante correcta vacía.

Meh, I've been busy cleaning up HTML in the General Chat forum.  But your 4-4 question is kind of vague.  What's it got that the other castles have, but is different in this level?  That could be any number of things...  the normal level music at the beginning, a level you can go through in any order, a boss you can beat by eating...
I dunno.  If you want an answer, I think you'll have to be a bit more specific.

4-4 is the Frog Prince one, right? If that is correct then the answer is that instead of Kamek making the boss grow, he shrinks Yoshi and Baby Mario, and the battle takes place inside Frog Prince's belly.

This is pathetic! I got the answer from the instead of "dark" and "scary" it's pleasant guess. I haven't played YI in years and I can still remember this one little thing, and usually I have a terrible memory!

"The address 'sad.gif' wouldn't make anything appear, unless there was an image of the same filename in the same directory as this board."

I have done this same img inside the secret forum, if it even IS the secret forum.

This may be a bit overdue, but Mario's "mount" is what he rides, in other words Yoshi.

Ya, you covered it by saying "The normal music in the beginning". Actually - The Frog Prince (Prince Froggy) level is 3-4, not 4-4.
But that is a good observation...

You have an answer for the other one?

MadMario. So you're saying that there is a sad.gif file in the same directory as the forum page? That's all I was trying to see. Oh, and it was a Goomba's mount, not Mario's.
Umm, Insane Steve, can you give me a hint as to what exactly the pattern is for?

"MadMario. So you're saying that there is a sad.gif file in the same directory as the forum page? That's all I was trying to see."

No, I'm saying that you can show an image from A COMPLETLY DIFFERENT WEB SITE!

Ex. I used to be on the ZSNES Board, and my avatar came DIRECTLY off TMK.

"Oh, and it was a Goomba's mount, not Mario's."

My bad.

Ok, here's another hint.

The pattern requires knowledge of 2 Mario games to answer. The numbers and "X"s represent something in one of the games. The other is used to determine the number or "X" that is placed.

Now that the logic is given out, the trick is in finding the games and then what the symbols represent...

Here it is: one more time:

x x x x 5 10 x 9 x 8 x ___

Absolutamente nada. Is it like having to do with the way Mario gets and loses powerups?

MadMario. See, I was right. The address of the file is "http://www.classicgaming.com/tmk/board/sad.gif". I was right all along.

Nope. It has more to do with Mario's enemies. Kind of.

Nope. Not lives.

One last hint: "X" represents a member of the set that is NOT in both games....
