An obscure '60s song?! That's the Beatles! Don't you know who the Beatles are?!

I am the eggman... I am the walrus.. koo koo ka choo...
...I hate that song.

I don't care what they call the bad guy in Sonic. I've never played more than 10 minutes of a Sonic game. Eggman sounds stupid but if that's what they're calling him, then so be it. Robotnik sounds cooler/more intimidating but I don't care.
That was a joke.

I'm a big fan of the Beatles.  I just think that song is obscure.

I''''m a Mario and Sonic rube!
I always figured "Time to tip the scales" was Wario's everyday motto.

You all miss one important point. Mr. [creator of Sonic storyline] never created a character named Robotnik - ever. He created Eggman. Who cares if it sounds stupid, it is his name.

You have all been fed the false name information from birth. Remember how hard it was for Neo to first accept the real world? That is what you all are experiencing. Stop living in the Matrix. I know it will be tough, but realize the error of your ways and accept the cold, hard facts.

And remember, it is not your fault. It is Sega of America's fault. You can beat them.

There is no ring.

Well then, this new found information changes my opinion naught.

If calling Robotnik Eggman is freedom, give me the blue pill.

As far as I'm concerned, there is a spoon. ;)

Want a cookie?

(...Didn't some old lady in The Matrix say that?)

Well, I don't like the name Rockman as much as I like Mega Man. Even if Keiji Inafune doesn't like the name Mega Man. (He doesn't.)
That was a joke.

actually, the old lady you refer to, called the oracle, said "here, take a cookie..." but you were close.

i agree with CW, i like the name megaman rather than rockman. why call the guy rockman if he doesnt have anything to do with rocks?

Heh, surprisingly, I actually prefer the name Rock Man, as opposed to Mega Man. I'm unsure why, to be honest. Meh, I also like Forte, over Bass.

Also, he's not named after a "Rock," as in a Sedimentary or Igneous sort of rock. It's Rock as in Rock and Roll, hence the pun of the Character's names... Rock and Roll. Erm, it seemed sort of obvious. If you hadn't noticed, most of the Character's Japanese names are related to music:

English Name  -  Japanese Name

Rock/Mega Man  -  Rock/Rock Man
Roll  -  Roll
Break Man/Proto Man  -  Blues
Bass  -  Forte
Treble - Treble** (?)

** - I'm unsure of its Japanese name.

Well, a lot of 'em anyways.
