I was thinking about Yoshi's egg. When you throw it then someone gets hit by it or it lands on the ground it will cause damage and drop random items on the stage.

Good idea, and since Snake is in this one they should have like a socom or thermal goggles. Or maybe a metal gear mark 2 ( the small metal gear from snatcher and the MGS4 Tgs trailer)

SMB2 Potion. Throw it at the ground (on impact the glass shatters and the potion splatters everywhere and starts steaming) and a door appears from the steam. You can use the door even if you didn't throw the potion, but it can only be used by one player. You'll stay in Sub-Con for a few seconds, where nothing moves. Attack the other players like no tomorrow!

I'm hoping that smash-icon token in the trailer is was I thought it was (there was one, right? I think Mario got it and it cut to a scene where he had devestating power). I'm hoping they appear occasionally and when your character gets it, they're granted devestating power. Please, anything... I'm sick of the Pokeball (sorry, don't know the code for the e with the accent mark) being the item all the CPUs are drawn to. They don't even go after Bob-Ombs. Speaking of, how about more Bob-Ombs? Having bigger Bob-Ombs the size and weight of crates would be pretty nice to throw at your annoying enemy.

Also, I want NO LIMIT to the size you can reach by getting more and more Mushrooms. When you're big and get one, GET BIGGER. Get another, grow again. Another, grow. Keep going until your shoe is the only thing visible onscreen. Same for Poison Shrooms. Keep shrinking until you're not even a pixel high. Change the shrinking sound to the classic sound, too.

I want the laser gun changed into an NES Zapper.

Also, how about the fly swatter from Mario Paint? When you do a smash attack with it, it flattens your opponent for a few seconds.

I remember a while ago, I made a huge list of ideas for character-specific items, a while ago. Perhaps I should dust it off and post it here sometime.
