He went to a good art school, I attended it for some years, then I went off on my own.

That had better be fanart. I shall smite whoso ever dare lay a hand upon the greatness that is the work of Charles M. Shultz. (He's my idol ya know.)

But all this talk of anime-syled revivals of old toons has reminded me of Bleedman's Powerpuff Girls  comics.

There are some things you just don't lay a hand on for anime.  Charles Schulz's greatest comic strip is one of them.  I am a huge fan of his work.

Garfield is another great cartoon that should never be made into anime.  As much as I love anime, it needs to stay far away from the classic cartoons we know and love.

I loved Hamtaro!  I don't care if it was kiddy.  It was a great anime.
When I was around 8 years old, I'd watch Arthur every day.
And I used to watch Digimon every weekday after I got home from school and every Saturday morning.
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (NOT Sonic X).  This was back when VG cartoons were all humor, and no anime rip-off.  Good times.
Remember Cartoon Cartoon Fridays back when Cartoon Network was the king of cartoon line-ups?  I miss those times.

Yeah, don't none of you anime studios get any ideas to rip off our most beloved toons with crappy versions of your own.

I doubt any anime studio execs are actually viewing this thread, and I doubt they're even trying to get the license to reimagine any classic american cartoons. Those images mostly come from untalented hacks at deviantArt who can't draw in any other style so they take an easy way out: Anime-ize an old cartoon to cover up for their lack of talent. Of course there are exceptions, like Bleedman.

If there is one cartoon I never want to see revived in a different style it's Beavis and Butt Head. Mike Judge got it right the first time and no one else should touch it.

Besides that, Powerpuff Girls Z isn't that bad. Sure they changed many elements around but anyone who wanted to see an exact replicant of the original PPG is blinded by bias.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

I've never seen PPGZ either, but I really hope Cartoon Network will dub it someday using some of the original voices.

Basically, it a self parody magical girl show with the PPG, though they are very different from their original selves. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are now their super hero codenames. Their real names are Momoko, Miyako, and Kaoru. They're now 13 years old instead of kindergartners and they're not sisters. Blossom's still the leader but she isn't as bossy and smart as the old Blossom. She's more boy crazy and has an addiction to candy. Bubbles is now the rational thinker, while Buttercup is mostly the same. Most of the villains also have different backgrounds and looks except for Fuzzy Lumpkins who's mostly the same. Professor Utonium, the Mayor, Ms. Bellum and Ms. Keane are also there.

I'm glad I haven't seen Bellum's face in any of the PPGZ screenshots.  They should NEVER shou Bellum's face cause that was a running gag from the original.

If you think about it, the original PPG kind of parodied the anime style.

Ah ys, the old "never seen his face" gag from Home Improvement, where they only showed parts of Wilson's face, or they'd show him from the back.

So did Dexter. That was McCracken and Tartakovsky's thing. There's also tons of references to all sorts of anime, action cartoons, sci-fi films and other such things.
