TMK turns 3!
Another year of pure Mario, with no end in sight... Thanks to everyone who sent in comments, suggestions, and files! These contributions not only ensure future updates, but keep me interested in running this site. So keep those files comin'! Now, before turning your attention to that cake you made (yeah, right), read the rest to find out what's happened in the past year, and what's in store for the future.
First, let's take a look at the four things mentioned in the last birthday special that I wanted to accomplish:
A year ago, I promised a once-every-five-days update schedule. This seems to be working out pretty well. Instead of no update at all, half of the updates were done at the last minute because I didn't want to break the promise. This didn't allow me to get lazy!
- Add a previews section.
- More game info and screen shots.
Screen shots? There's over 500 now. As for "game info," I'm not exactly sure how much was already there at the time I wrote the last birthday special, but I do know stuff was added. :)
- TMK history special.
I realized I forgot to do this as I was reading the last birthday special in preparation for writing this one. And now that I think about it more, a history special would probably be better for TMK's fifth birthday, or something.
- Mariopedia completion.
Probably would've happened if there was no Super Mario RPG. I would say the total amount of SMRPG entries is about 400! After barely starting the enemies, I ran away screaming.
On 9/9/99, I added a secret hidden page. No one has mentioned that they came across it yet! However, I never formally announced that I added a secret page; instead it was hidden in the source code of the updates page. If anyone finds the secret page, make sure to follow the directions there so I know that it was found. (And no, you can't find it by searching TMK for "secret page." ;-)
TMK might see another small redesign next year. I'm not sick of the current design yet, so I'm not in too much of a hurry to get the new look done. In April I'll get back to the Mariopedia, trying for a completion date of December 2000. I also want to get some more reviews and MIDIs up, and fix the terribly out-of-date links page. The rest of the updates will probably be based off the answers I get from the poll, so go fill it out!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope I'll see you all back here next year!
