Other people rape the funny out of everything on these boards. Lizard Dude and TEM keep it fresh.
And Bird Person. And Super-Jesse

Fixed. Ya know, to prevent this, I COULD just edit what I want to change/add to people's thread, but from what I understand Deezer and MB say that's "abuse of power".

Pssh, whatever.

I would play SMB Deluxe more if the cartirdge could keep save data on it...  but it's broken now--the game plays fine, but the save data disappears after you turn the GBC off.

The next VC game I buy will likely be Ocarina of Time.  Am I right in thinking this is probably a better use for ten dollars?

You'd be crazy to argue otherwise.

What a shame. Look at that wall; it was a boring slice of vertical concrete boxcar until one brave gamer gave it life. Then, someone came and tagged. When will people learn the fine line between art and vandalism?

In all seriousness, I can't tell if the Mario art was meant to incorporate the ghetto-tag, but it still looks cool!

I didn't know that DK: Jungle Beat was really DDR Mario Mix!

Heh, in all seriousness, you got the wrong SS on the maDDRio page. Just letting y'all know.

I was letting Deezer know he accidentally uploaded or source coded to a wrong picture, apparently. I don't even remember posting this, nor many of the ones that followed.....

Game Blog / Mario Reference in Boom Blox (sort of)
« on: May 08, 2008, 02:40:53 PM »
Via the level editor in Boom Blox, WiiFolder has created a tribute to Mario by making a 1-Up sprite to smash up. I sure hope this is only the beginning of the Mario inspired Boom Blox levels!

Edited: I sure hope no one saw my original title. It was mind-blowing

People are going to buy a new Wii just to have more memory?
PS3 HD sizes are also functionality limits and aren't designed to be bought twice by the same person. That's why they've released more than one size at once.

1) PS3 are a helluva lot more expensive than Wiis, and I feel your DS/Wii color argument holds more merit.

2) I would buy a new Wii if it had a Hard Drive, and also a new color/new colors (especially a MARIO one, hehe).

I've bought multiple DS's, even when they were 149.99, but you have to keep in mind most of the new colors I purchased came bundled with something (nintendogs, mario kart ds, etc). Unless Nintendo is going to bundle a new color with a hard drive, or something that holds more value, I doubt very few current owners will purchase a new almost 300 dollar system.

Agreed:

May I point out that DS Lites aren't as expensive or rare as Wiis. Not that the people still aren't insane.

So why don't they make a fun game that isn't about random killing spree missions? If GTA4 isn't mainly about killing I apologize.

You could argue that about any shooting game. Isn't Call of Duty 4 just random shooting missions, isn't Smash Brothers Brawl just random fighting? With GTA4 (and arguing and defending something on the internet is utterly pointless, but....) yes you do kill people, but the character development is what makes it addicting, and the story itself is pretty fleshed out. It shares a few RPG elements, but I guess you could say that about every open world game. It's a fun game because the mechanics work well, and sometimes yes, you just need a good "go randomly kill people" game, if you want to describe it that way.

I love the game, and I guess much like you all probably think I'm missing out by not playing [insert japan-only RPG here], I think you're missing out by not at least trying this game.

Uhh, they DID give a release date! Check the video again, look at the scene where he's downloading the game from the Wii Shop Channel and you'll see "Release date: May 12."

Edit: I checked the video again and..... yes. It's the real deal. If you don't believe me, check the "What's Wiiware" video. It's out 5/12/2008!

Yeah, I did a quick re-glance over the video, and they indeed DO have the date on there, thanks a ton Wiiario for x2 checking my work :-D

Does it have computer graphics? Sure
Does that diminish the excellence of the movie in any way? Nope

It's very well told, very well acted, about as faithful to the comics as can be expected (I was very happy), and a lot of fun to watch.

Surely the world is ending: I agree with Chup. Again.

It has come to my attention that echochrome just came out.

A definite must-buy.

I downloaded the demo, haven't bought it yet. Man, you guys are missing a good game in GTA Four, past all the "adult" themes it's a great 3rd person shooter, has a good storyline, and the travel system is much better. It's just so detailed and spread out, yet everything feels more connected in this iteration than the previous.

I am hooked on that game, it's amazing fun.

Friend Codes / Re: Mario Kart Wii
« on: May 06, 2008, 11:51:17 PM »
It wasn't really my job.  It's his thread.  I just took it upon myself to edit his post with the new codes and he updated it.  I see he didn't like my TT alignment and single spacing though.

Those who have ghost times better than mine or for tracks I haven't ghosted yet please send your ghost to me.

1. We both edit this thread, and I just started it since I had the game on release day midnight and was hoping someone else did by then too, haha.

2. I do like that "tt" deal L'son, I kept it actually, I just think single spacing is too ugly with all the numbers, and spaced out it's easier to read. Don't care either way.

I need to start playing this again, GTA Four is taking up all my time......

Miis are cool, and don't change the way I feel about the game. I wish they allowed you to record your own vocals, but meh.
Though I think it'd be funny to hear Banjo's voice coming out of the Miis. Guh-huh guh-huh guh-huh.
Or Peter Griffin's laugh, so a Mii can taunt someone after they just red shell'd someone.

That idea is full of win.

Game Blog / They Say, You Say: Mario Kart Wii
« on: May 03, 2008, 03:03:16 PM »

So, a week later, what's everyone got to say about Mario Kart Wii? I've complied some excerpts from reviewers on websites, and more importantly I've taken some well written opinions posted right in TMK's Fungi Forums. I strongly suggest you take both into consideration, and if you want to share your thoughts, feel free to comment!

What THEY Say
Game Informer Online
Ups:
- The control is brilliant, the courses are tuned to perfection, and everything is polished to a high shine.
- The light/medium/heavy choice is a strategic and stylistic decision rather than an opportunity to intentionally gimp yourself against inferior competition.
- This looks good…for a Wii game
Downs
- ...don’t bother with the stupid wheel
- ...the turbo change feels like a dumbing-down of the gameplay in the pursuit of a misguided desire to make it somehow easier for my grandma to pick up and play. Note to Nintendo: Stop.
- ... the overhaul of the mini-turbo system takes a while to get used to.

GameSpot.com
Ups:
- Huge number of courses, including some of the most imaginative yet
- Deeply integrated online play
- Fun and strategic trick system
Downs
- Nostalgia doesn't save most of the classic courses from being boring
- Items are more unbalanced than ever, especially on new tracks
- Battle modes are now exclusively team-based and timed.

IGN.com
Ups
- For the first time ever on a Nintendo console, the online portion trumps the single-player offering.
- Ghost racing is even more part of this Kart than any other out there
- IR supported menus, great Mii integration to hook the casual crowd, strong use of Wii's functionality, and another entertaining mascot racer. One of the best console Karts in years.
Downs
- Kart's 150cc experience is most certainly beatable, but it'll take as much luck and needless replay as it will skill, and that's a shame.
- The cars also feel like they're running at the 50cc speed class for online, and it's a bit too slow for our liking.
- the lack of voice chat for an extremely social online game

What YOU Say
Vidgmchtr
Ups
- The Wii Wheel actually does work fine, I like it.
- I thought the idea of karts AND bikes was pretty cool too.
- Yoshi's new vocals, they make me laugh
Downs
- Still no cup featuring all Rainbow Roads
- With the retro levels, I think they should've used the intros used in each MK game the track is from. Not important, but I think it'd be a nice touch.
- The items that can give a huge advantage (Lightning bolt, Blue shells, POW blocks, etc.) are WAY too common.

BirdPerson
Ups
- I love the textures on the Super NES tracks. To quote myself, it's like a 16-bit dream.
- Some sweet new tracks. Koopa Cape is awesome.
- I was worried, but I approve of Yoshi's new voice clips.
Downs
- No WarioWare Wario (c'mon, at least just for bikes?)
- No individualized karts or bikes. I miss the Egg 1.
- Not the best retro choices.

NintendoExpert89
Ups
- Playing as the Mii
- Great tracks
- Much, much shorter waiting time for Online Play
Downs
- Graphics seem recycled and unchanged since GameCube
- Battle Mode is changed
- Easy to be knocked off the track repeatedly

Now this isn't all the opinions or posts we've had concerning Mario Kart Wii. For the full experience, you need to check out and participate in the Fungi Forums. I'd also suggest heading into our chatroom, since users in there always have interested things to say that you might find helpful!
