Put Waluigi in an actual adventure game!
Give the spin-off titles a rest for some time.
Make more full-fledged adventure games.
Maybe make another New SMB-type game, but add a few more things that could improve it (Yoshi, SMB2 stuff, etc.).
Implement Donkey Kong and Wario into the Mario series more.

This is a great topic. If I had control of the Mario Franchise............

1. I'd get rid of Peach. (Or at least make her tougher.)
2. Mario would have some serious super-powers. (Big explosion type energy ball thingie)
3. Waluigi would have his own game.
4. I'd have more games where Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Wario team up.
5. Stronger enemies besides weak-as-poop goombas.
6. Mabey a tad more violent. (Mario with guns is a little rough, but some blood wouldn't be bad)
7. I'd also rid the universe of Birdo.

There's alot I'd do, but these are the top 6.

1. Make a game trilogy where Ludwig Von Koopa makes a dream machine, and Bowser uses it on Mario. Bowser releases Wart into the Mushroom World. Peach rescues Mario. In the second game, in which Luigi would get an actual starring role, Wart kidnaps Daisy in Sarasaland, and Luigi saves Daisy. Third game, a Mario & Luigi-esque RPG, Bowser and Wart team up and capture Peach and Daisy. It's up to the Super Mario Bros. to, once again, save the princesses.
2. Limit the Mario Party games to just one or two games per console generation.
3. Ask Sakurai to include the Baby Mario Bros. in SSBB.

I like how this is holding up.

I thought of a few more:

-Make a new animated Mario movie(maybe base on that old anime flick).
-Get Sega to assist in the making of a Sonic/Mario crossover.
-Make a DK64 remake for the DS.
-Make the Plumbing Academy game that I posted in the New Mario Vldeo Game Ideas thread.
-Settle the arguement on DK's identity.
-Bring back the Koopalings in place of Bowser Jr.

To do list for the Mario Fanchise (if I was in control)

-Make Wario the president of the Mushroom Kingdom

-Make the yellow cape part of Mario's outfit and include a sword (a colorful star sword)

-Make a Mario game where you are the leader of a band (Rock n' Roll in the Mushroom Kingdom

-Start a war between the Mushroom Kingdom and the Koopa Kingdom

-Replace the Mario Party series with a magical mystery tour game (featuring Mario characters) where you travel the world

-Let the Mario Universe take over the world...our world and the rest of the universe

If I had control...I would:
--Create another Mario RPG in which Peach becomes evil.
--Send Luigi off to Sarasaland to rescue Daisy.
--Make a game that features the Mario characters travelling to each previous continent: like Sarasaland, Mushroom Kingdom, Wario World, Dinosaur Land, etc.

--Make more 2D platformers.

Why sue them if you're the one making Mario & basketball fans alike happy (and money), without even having to do anything?

I would make:

Super Wario Bros. (where you play as Wario and Waluigi insted of Mario and Luigi)
Super Paper Wario
Super Mario 256 (sequel to Super Mario 128)
New Super Mario Bros. 2
New Super Mario Bros. 3
New Super Mario World
Super Mario Sunshine 2

I would also buy an island and turn it into a real Isle Delfino.

Make spoof movies for comedic reasons. That would be a good money-maker if a lot of people like comedies like me. Examples: http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=9439.0
