well on the cave levels i found a kool thing that mario does, he does a moonwalk in the blocks on the first underground level
let me show u how to do it:

ok as your going through the level your going to get to a part where you have to run and slide under the blocks because there is a huge wall of those blue blocks in your way, and little space to get through if your super mario. and you know as you move the screen moves with you so you cant go backwards. that huge wall of blocks thats in your way, start walking a little till the left side of the screen has a little space to jump in as mario. go to the left side of the screen and jump in the little space above and start jumping to the right. while your jumping to the right mario will move on his own to the right and face the opposite direction so it makes you look like your doing the moonwalk. and you will moonwalk your self out of the blocks
