In a follow-up to a story posted in the TMKBlog, Nintendo has officially confirmed that the rumored Super Mario Galaxy pre-order coin is to be available at certain retailers. For more information, see the official press release below!

You like colored text, huh? I'm going to preorder it just for the coin. I want the game, of course, but I'm only ordering it for the Coin! Someday, we will be the only ones to have it.

If it were against the rules the code for it would be disabled. I know that on some forums (NSider, for one) people will constantly use colored text. Mr.Toadsworth, did you happen to come from there?
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?

NSider's one of many forums that has members using coloured text, so, even if this wasn't his first forum, it'd be highly improbable- if not impossible- to determine which forum he was on beforehand. I was a regular on PE2k once, and the number of people using coloured text was a surprisingly high ratio compared to those who didn't; even many mods, gmods, and admins iirc used it. I assume that quite a few other forums are similiar in their treatment of coloured text and its usage.
If my son could decimate Lego cities with his genitals, I'd be [darn] proud.

I did too. At a Game Stop.  But got No coin, unless you get it by mail.  A little disappointed in that, but oh well.  At least I got the game pre-ordered

Cool, another Coin to be thrown inside my collection of coins with no currency value.

As for NSider, not only do people use colored text, they also center them, change the size, and to top it off, use sprites from Video Games in their posts.

It's got Mario and that squishy star thing as they appear on the box. It's all silver, except the star, which is gold-colored.

I just found out the Toy R us is giving a 25$ gift card if pre-ordered.

Since I have already pre-ordered through GameStop, and cannot cancel 'cause I lost my receipt, I'll have to be happy with the coin.

So how about it? One hand 25 bucks on the other a coin of no monetary value.

You should be able to cancel or transfer your GameStop pre-order without a receipt.  I do it all the time and all they need is my name or phone number.  I suspect it's too late to pre-order SMG though.
