Yes, it is true that the war between Nintendo and Sega fans ended long ago in 2002 after the retirement of the Dreamcast and the end of Sega as a console maker. But the war may soon begin again.

I have been hearing some rumors from various sources that Sega is secretly developing a new console to be released around 2007 that will supposedly be even better than the Xbox 360. If it even does exist, many people have suggested names for it, like the Super Dreamcast, Dreamcast 2, Katana, and others. What does this mean? A lot.

First off, Sega will probably make a risky move and make Sonic a Sega-exclusive once again. But others suggest that, instead of restarting the Nintendo vs. Sega war of the late 1990's, Nintendo will start a full partnership with Sega and start making Mario games for Sega systems! While it is unlikely the two companies will merge into Nega or Segtendo, and it is possible that the whole thing is just a big hoax, there is still a 1% chance of this happening.

In fact, some people have even suggested new Mario games for the "Katana": A port of Super Mario 128, a new Mario Kart game with Sonic as a co-star, a Sonic vs. Mario fighting game in the style of Marvel vs. Capcom, or even a new platformer with Sonic and Mario as partners!

Of course, these are merely rumors, but DANG, I hope this is true.
