-Luigi-

Luigi continued to explain what seemed to be happening to the Mushroom Kingdom to Mario; all of a sudden, he paused and looked over his shorter older brother's shoulder with a dropped jaw.

"B-Bowser," he stammered, "So you're behind all this!" Luigi pointed an accusing finger towards the King of Koopas.

The plumber looked around edgily for something to hide behind should Bowser try to roast him.

-Luigi-

Luigi stared at the letter... er, poem, for a long while, before speaking to Toad.

"It... it doesn't seem to make any sense. The only line I can really follow is the one about reading the first letters..."

The plumber rubbed his chin with a white-gloved hand, screwing up his eyes in contemplation.

"Mama mia! Toad... the first letters of each line... they, they spell something out! ... Uhm... 'TSEROFOTOG'? That's a strange word... maybe the T is silent."

Noting Toad's look of skepticisim, Luigi stared for another few minutes, and then had another outburst.

"Oh, woops! Sometimes I get a touch of dyslexia. It says, 'Go to forest'!"

The plumber paused again.

"... Do you think we should go to the forest? Lead the way, Toad!"

-Luigi-

Luigi blinked at Kirby's sudden arrival. Then he blinked at Mario's absent-mindedness and tapped his brother on the shoulder.

"Good grief, Mario! He's been in -both- of the recent fighting tournaments against us. It's Kirby! But... what's he doing here? I guess you can ask him. I have to go to town and pick up some golf equipment."

Saying no more, the green-clad plumber held onto his hat and hopped down the large warp pipe beside the Bros' mailbox; his exit was complete with a signature 'doot-doot-doot' warping noise.

***warp warp warp***

Luigi leaped out of the pipe into the main square of the province surrounding Toadstool Castle; some folks called it "Toad Town," others went for simplicity and called it "Mushroom Kingdom," but Luigi had always fancied the name "Luigi City." Of course, he never told anyone that.

But something was a little off with Luigi City today. It was... completely empty!

Immediately, Luigi began to think of possible occurences... Bowser? G-ghosts? A party at Toadstool Castle he hadn't been invited to? He strolled down an empty street, looking from side to side at the quiet stores and homes. Sure, everything was peaceful... but it was also kinda creepy.

Luigi remembered a piece of advice Mario had once given him: "When something's amiss, go find Toad. He always seems to escape unharmed." Well, Luigi figured, now was a good a time as any.

The plumber walked to the gate of Toadstool Castle and opened it, making his way down the quaint little path that ultimately led to the castle itself. Toad was usually around here somewhere; his house had to be nearby.

"Toad? Hey, Toooaaad!"

-Luigi- (just to make things more vivid, I have Luigi in the house from Paper Mario)

Luigi grumbled sleepily and rolled over on his side, rubbing at his eyes and peering from the top bunk of the Mario Brothers' bunkbed out at the modestly furnished room. The last remnants of a distant dream danced around in his head before he descended the ladder beside him and reached lazily for his green cap, fingers missing a few times before he simply gave up and walked to the dining room.

He paused for a time and listened. No snoring... where was Mario? The younger brother continued to the door and opened it a crack, squinting his eyes at the intruding sunlight. After a while, he saw Mario standing outside by the mailbox. Luigi opened the door and walked up to him, still rubbing his eyes tiredly. When he spoke, his voice was heavy with the sleep that had not yet completely left him.

"What's going on out here, bro?"

I had an idea for a story here but I need some help... members from our studio audience, per ce.

Everyone please respond to this post, if you're interested, and claim a character. When the story starts, if you decide to write in, write in from your character's point of view (POV).

I suppose it's alright to play as Mario-related characters such as Donkey Kong and Kirby, if that's okay with the moderator. I'm sure that it is.

For example, say I call... Bowser, and another player calls Mario. It might go as follows:

-My post-

Bowser sat upon his throne and laughed; within the echoes of his gruesome and shivery cackle there resided his most diabolical scheme to date–oh no, this went far beyond the Mushroom Kingdom...

-Other guy's post-

Mario rushed in and threw a vase at Bowser for no apparent reason. He chuckled and exclaimed, "Take that, you fiend!" Then he left as if nothing had happened.

--

You can write as much or as little as you'd like, but please say which character's POV you're taking before you begin writing. Just do it in the same post.

So, I guess it's "first come, first serve" for those that are interested.

I call ... Luigi!
