Have you noticed that the announced plot for Toy Story 3 (Pixar's plot, not Disney's stupid lame scrapped one) sounds a lot like Brave Little Toaster?

Have you also noticed that many of the people on Brave Little Toaster's crew and many of the people in Pixar are the same people?

I'm interested to see where this goes.

The two are somewhat similar... what was the last information released about TS3, again? I heard they dumped the plotline where Buzz has some sort of hazardous defect and gets sent back to Taiwan (no, I'm serious).

They dumped that, and I think the new one has Andy growing up and the toys going to find him.
No! I don't want that!

I think that there should be a crossover, at least in that they could meet toys based on the cast of TBLT, or something. It would be majorly awesome, to say the least.

Growing up and going to college, no less. Definite parallels.

Also take into consideration that TBLT has a different, arguably happier ending than the book it's based on. IIRC, in the book, they end up with a new, completely different family rather than being reunited with the Master. Does that make it more or less likely that TS3 will end up with Andy bringing the toys with him? You decide.

And yes, a crossover would be pretty fricking sweet. I wish there weren't already sequels to it so Pixar could just do TBLT2, rather than having to do a 4 or an unnumbered one with a subtitle (the numbers are confusing anyway, since the second sequel is an interquel) or a continuity reboot. Although they're really not that bad for direct-to-video fare.

I thought the plot of Toy Story 3 started with Andy dropping the toys off at a day care center and the plot follows them having to adjust to a new life...so I doubt the endings will be the same.

Yeah, I think that's the newer plot, and it would make sense after all these years, anyway.

Also, TBLT was a book? Hmph, shows you what I know...
