I've been looking at Wal-Mart, and the possibilities are looking grim. There aren't any plain rubber masks that I can spray-paint green and add tentacles to, and I the only wings I can find are sparkly fairy wings. However I might be able to make something out of paper-mache.

Well, I've got the mask. It's a blank female instead of blank male, but it'll have to do. Now, the only question is...

Do I wear my glasses over the mask or don't I?

I kind of think it's interesting to have the glasses, and I can actually see, but without is more original to Buckethead. However, I'm strongly leaning towards with the glasses, as I'm taking an original and making it my own.

Be wary that I am not trick or treating, I am passing out candy and playing guitar to passersby while cosplaying as Buckethead. Also, I may or may not get a long black wig soon. If I don't it's not the end of Boston Creme Pies, but it'd be nice.

Sweet! Buckethead costume! It may just be the camera angle or something, but in the photo with the glasses over the mask, you remind me of Strong Sad.

A friend of mine and her husband are throwing an "after halloween" party on Saturday that they'd like me to attend to. Problem is, I'd have to dress up as a literary character.

The only costume I've worn in the last....9 years was a Jason mask. Was he in books?

I'm going as inertia for Halloween. I'm just going to have a plain shirt that says INERTIA on it, and I'm going to go around performing very inertia-like feats.

Cool, yes?

Literary character is a fairly... difficult theme because

I) They are described in text and may not be instantly recognizable because people aren't used to seeing them, especially when everyone probably imagines them differently.

II) For this reason, literary characters are not often designed with flashy unique... costumes.

Well then going by that logic, I could be Charlie from Flowers for Algernon. That took place around the 1960s, and I assume casual clothing was fairly similar.

the only diffrens wud be that i woud rite lik dis, cuz charly gordon orijinaly has an eye-Q of 68.

If I had taken the time to make the hat and get a robe, I'd be trick-or-treating as Rincewind tomorrow. Since I didn't, I don't know what I'm going to do costume-wise...

You should have gotten a friend of yours to be Twoflower.
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?

My Mario costume is almost finished. Just need the M emblem and a pair of white gloves. Of course if I had things my way, I'd be Luigi. I couldn't track down a green hat though. Actually, I haven't had a chance to try.
Fangirling over Luigi since 1999.

With LD's pic, it makes me think Mario wears glasses every so often, but has contacts in during his adventures.

He sure does.  I have to wear glasses to take notes in psychology this morning.    But I'm gonna try to wear my glasses as little as possible today.
