Now that the chain is over, I'll have to agree. Just a pewter piece on the boards of Mario Party... no destiny, no particular defining traits, nothing. And it's probably best that way...

I stand by the equality of Mario Bros., still. Awesome radiates from the Mario & Luigi promotional art with both standing side by side. Even though I am a total Luigi n00b in Melee.

Waluigi has some particular defining traits - he is the tallest and skinniest, always has the best and weirdest celebratory moves.

The sports games treat Waluigi better than Mario Party, that is true.

As for Waluigi..... Seeing as Wario plays Mario's opposite, I feel he works much better as a stand alone character.

Why do we want Luigi? I'll quote from the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga manual: "He's lean, he's not that mean, and his clothes are forest green!"

I do think that Waluigi needs his own game to develop his character more. He's pretty bland now, but I think Nintendo could make give him soem personality, and then he would make the "main characters" list.

"He's lean, he's not that mean, and his clothes are forest green!"

Um...I could've sworn that that quote is actually from Double Dash's manual, not Superstar Saga's.

Close, but the quote in the MK:DD!! manual is, "He's lean, he's not so mean, and his Fireballs are green! Everybody's favorite brother is here, too!"

Cripes. Well, I don't actually have MK:DD!! so I can't check that. I am looking at the M&L:SS manual right now and don't see anything of the sort.

Either way, this Luigi fangirl extraordinaire sure feels stupid right about now...

I've seen someone who hacked SM64 and replaced the Mario sprite with Luigi, but I think it's a hoax. This is an interesting question. To me, playing Luigi in SM64 is pointless.
The Mario series is the best! It has every genre in video games but RTS'! It also has a plumber who does different roles, a princess, and a lot of odd creatures who don't seem to poop!

Why is that? You were correct. The quote is in the Double Dash manual and if it were in the Superstar Saga manual it would be in a very odd place (I looked at the characters page and it was not there).

Whoops. I guess my mind's just been really mucked up lately. More so than usual anyway. It's really annoying.

Mario is not a sprite in SM64. You have to hack the colors, textures, and edit the polygons to shape his head like Luigi.

It isn't? I've always remembered the phrase "his clothes are forest green", and associated that with a picture of Luigi in the SS maual. Guess I was wrong.
