Well, in some senses, the RPG's are a spinoff. Or rather, I'd put them into their own category.

I'm not surprised. I never got very far on the ROM I have. I'm still waiting for Square to get their act together and re-release the game on either VC or DS.

What constitutes a spin-off, anway? A game in a series that isn't the same genre as the first one? Wouldn't that make Super Mario Bros. a spin-off of Mario Bros.? Just thinking aloud, here.
