If that's the case, then the widely-spread version must have the majority of information about it censored out.

The only reason for GameCubes now is to have a Game Boy Player.

That may be true, though I lack a Game Boy Player. However, I keep my Cube around for two reasons...

1) The Wii is in the living room. The Cube is in my bedroom. You can probably figure out the rest.
2) Well... Just look at it!

That's awesome!

Back on topic: I never realized that the Gamecube startup song is the Famicom Disk System song in disguise! Nintendo really knows how to hide cool easter eggs like this!

N64 Chick, I had that exact same GameCube skin. Did you, perchance, get said skin at Toys 'R' Us?

Actually, I got it at GameStop...which happens to be right next door to a Toys R Us.

Did that skin start the rumors of characters such as Toad and Diddy Kong being in Melee?

Considering that I never saw the skin until about 2005, I'd doubt that. Besides, only the noobliest of noobs would mistake Toad and Diddy's N64-era artwork as GCN renders.

That sounds about right. I know I got it sometime before I started my LiveJournal in September 2005.
