I saw the super mario bros. movie last night on the disney channel.  It stinks!!!!  What happened to Luigi's mustache?  All of the koopa troopas, or lakito?  What is up with the goombas?  What about the mushroom kingdom and the mushroom people?  Or fire flowers?  Or the overals?  And to top it all off, crapy evolution!  If I were the directer, man, I would take this movie up a TOTALY different hill.

Oh be quiet.  That Movie was great with what they had.  It wasn't 1999 when it was made, mind you.
Uh... Hi!

yeah, I know it wasn't made in 1999.  It was made in 1993.  When, some of the coolest games came out. (my opinion)  I didn't post this to start a flame war.  I'm just telling what I thought of the movoe.  All of my friends think the same thing.  I meen, really Luigi isn't Luigi without a mustache.  I meen, COME ON!

Ah, yes, the thrill of mediocrity :)

Seriously, it had very little to do with Mario Bros the game... I thought it was OK though... maybe because I was obligated to like it because it was Mario?

Na, then I'd also like Mario is Missing as well. I hate that game. Shoots that thoery out the window. Ah well.

Well, the movie's OK if you don't mind that it's completely different than the games. If you're expecting to see a movie-length clip of video game, then yeah, you'll think the movie sucks. They were probably trying to make a movie that non-gamers could still understand. I don't think it was that bad. Well, it was bad, but an amusing and cheesy sort of bad, like those old Godzilla movies.

I actually liked it.  But back then, if anything had the word Mario in it, I'd love it!  The movie wasn't that bad.  It's not like John Leguizamo (The guy who played Luigi) could grow a mustache for the movie, we should be happy that we actually got a movie.

I think that the Super Mario Bros. movie is awesome. I would have it on DVD, but it's only on VHS and that's discontinued.

Hopefully I get to reply before if and when Deezer closes this. Anyway, Here are refrences I saw...

Big Bertha-The fish from SMB3 is now a fat dance chick...

Bob-bomb-Hey he's actually pretty cool here...

Mario and Luigi wore overall's It was just not like the one's from the games.

Those guns that were flame throwers were probably a refrence to fire flowers or how Koopa in th games was able to spit fire at you.

When Koopa is in that bug round thing at the end it reminded me of Bowser in Mario world.

Bullet Bill-He even made a short cameo.

Thomp-Words are written on the wall tht says this right before orduring the time Bullet bill came in...

Toad-He was loay to the princess just the wrong one...

Luigi and Mario's personalitys were there just Mario was th scaredy cat and not Luigi. Mario is a hardworker in the games and I think he did well there...

Luigi and Mario's cluck cluck handshake-Sound familliar? It sounds like the noise from SMB3 when yo speed up...

The mushroom-Hey look at least its a refrence...

Iggy-At least one of the koopa kids made it

Spike-A classic retro enemy made it too...

Blooh blah it sta bah

You have to understand, the target audience for this movie is children 6-8 years old. They don't care about continuity.

I hate to say this, but I think Nintendo just bought a script and put Mario stuff in it. It's still a pretty good movie, just not a good Mario movie.

tooki, the SNIFTS! How could you forget the Snifts?!

Big Bertha is also in SMRPG, as a cannon in Bowser's Keep.

I liked how the Bomb-Omb had Reeboks.

What was that electric weapon that the old lady had?

The shoes are like in the games. You know, how they jump so high?

There is Yoshi, long tongue included.

Daisy is in a Mario game.

Koopa's Castle is now two skyscrapers.

There's the fact that the queen is dead.

Two of my favorite quotes:

"Where's my pizza?!"

"Koopa, your pizza's here."
"Not now!"

Mario, Mario, Mario! What happened to Mr. Andretti?

At the Inter net movie database, it said the flamethrowers were the SNES zappers that were painted black.

I loved this movie. It was different.

My favorite quote is when the guy radios Koopa and says "The Goomba's are dancing again."

I love the good Goomba. He's so friendly because he made friends with them before hand.

It was strange, and I wish it was on DVD. Hey, if they can bring Weird Al's UHF out of discontuation just to put it on DVD, (Great movie, BTW. $9.99 if you can find it.) they can do the same with Super Mario Brothers. I wish I had known it was on TV. I always find out after it's been on. Wish I had TiVo.

All the references were pretty cool.

Back when it came out, the Mario series hadn't found a standard niche yet. All the Mario games up until then were completely different. The stories were always conmpletely different. So they were allowed to take Artistic License when making it. They prolly named her Daisy because at the time the real Princess had no name in the US. So they assumed Daisy from Mario Land was the same Princess from SMB. If the movie came out now they'd call her Peach, but whatever.

I'd like to see a sequel. I mean they DID leave the story wide open at the end when Daisy came in the door saying "Koopa's back!" Classic.
