I am very interested in Mars.  I was captivated by the Pathfinder mission and hope the rover soon get on the ground in this new mission.

If you want to see the 3d images at www.nasa.gov or the m2k4 site you can get a free pair of glasses from http://www.pulltime3d.com/ by sending a self addressed envelope the the adress at the bottom of the page.

I don't see why all the big hype about "life  on Mars." I mean, it's interesting, but not "let's-go-spend-billions-of-dollars-on-it kind of interesting"
Whatever... it's their money...

Not their money, our money. Taxes pay for the space program. Bush says it'll take a trillion dollars, waste money, it will, says I.

Money is a puppet.  We are the puppeteers.  What happens to it belongs to the puppeteers.  So if it's your money, you decide what to do with it.

We AMERICANS really have no control over where our money goes. Sure, we're supposed to be a democracy, but we don't really decide anything but the politicians we want to screw us over.
Having said that, I agree that finding life on Mars is not worth speding half the country's money on. Particularly when there are so many things on earth that needpaying attention too.
I'm curious. How do people in Canada get ripped off?

I'd better stay outta this thread. It's a debate waiting to happen.

Yes Canada has. But Canada doesn't have the greatest army... heehee( I live in Canada so I know). That is why we have our good ol' bigger brother America! Gotta love America!

Why do they refer to only the USA as America, what about South America?

I'd like to retract my statement.
In America, we really do have a lot more rights than other countries. I really think that we take them for granted.
I will say, however, that we don't have all the rights we say we do. And over time, our freedom has been dissapearing.
Anyone read a book called "Fart Proudly"?
