If you want proof I'll tell you.
what come to my attention is that once you get Toad, he will no longer be in the Mushroom Kingdom background. If you go to page 18,(or around there) in your user manual, look at the two top pictures, they are of Mushroom kingdom, he is not there. I guess the makers of the game easily got him or something.

The reason why is that is not publicized anywhere that Toad is an unlockable character. How exactly does one unlock him?

you guys are right. I will tell you how to get him, but first the moves;
He has this move where he picks up turnips from the ground, (like peach,) but he can also pick up mushrooms to. He can taunt by waving at you or the sky. He cant float, but he can put out a little toad guy, and he is the most fastest in the game

On my next post I will say how to get him.
(Give me some D#@% time to remember?)
