No offense taken! I'm glad someone finally spoke up about this. You're referring to the "anapestic" thing, right? I had no idea what that word meant, so I looked it up, and the info I read said that it refers simply to the stressing of syllables, where every third syllable should be stressed or something like that. Whatever it actually means I don't know, and I didn't understand the examples that I saw. So I just forgot about that part of the limerick (which, I'll admit, is another word that I don't recall ever hearing or reading before).
What you're saying, though, is that there is a limit to the number of syllables each line can have, like the well-known haiku? Could you or someone else perhaps explain to me what the limits are exactly? Thanks!
