At a Wii launch in Japan, someone showed up dressed in a fairly nice Luigi costume. He helped launch the system and sell the first game.

The problem was that he wasn't an NCL employee... just a random guy in a nice Luigi suit.

Third photo: "Luigi handing Wii to first buyer."
Fourth photo: "Luigi [I don't know these words] to the people on the way to the register."
Fifth photo (not exact translation): "Authorized people lead Luigi the heck out of there."

W00t, Deezer Engrish. Well, not exactly Engrish... Authorized people rule. Poor Luigi.

I wonder what the poor guy was charged with.

Improper use of a preposition.

Wow, Japan is really cracking down on that.

Why is Luigi doing the...... "W" sign? And why did they use Luigi?

Lizard Dude · « **Reply #7 on:** December 04, 2006, 02:39:15 PM »

"W" for Wii?

It was probably a crazed Luigi fan, or else the Mario got busted on the way in.

I salute this guy. He's pretty brave, doing something like this and getting booted out of the store because of it.

I so want that Luigi costume.

Not knowing the translations, the three Luigi pictures appear to tell an interesting comic-strip-like story.

He was doing the "WII" sign. Look at his other hand.

Ah, okay, hey look, new fad!

I thought it was supposed to be 2 back-to-back victory signs.
