In Episode 1: "It's About Time," Marty McFly (voiced by actor Michael J. Fox) uses the Mario Brothers as a fake charity name when trying to get something from Edna, the reporter.

Marty: I can help you deliver soup! I donate a lot of time to charities!
Edna: Oh? Which ones?
Marty: The...um... Mario Brothers...
Edna: Ah, yes. The Italians do so many good works....

At this point in the game, Marty is back in 1931.
