Overview |
A new generation of Kongs emerge as Rare shifts the Donkey Kong universe many years into the future. The original Donkey Kong, known as Cranky Kong in the series, guides his grandson through DK Island in search of the evil Kremling leader.
In the introduction, Cranky Kong stands atop a red structure, alluding to the original Donkey Kong arcade game. The arcade game's title theme cranks out of the phonograph for a while until the new DK barges in with a boombox blasting an updated version of the tune.
