General Chat / Re: SO what is your favourite brand of banana?
« on: March 06, 2009, 06:54:05 PM »
I hate the taste of bananas in every way, shape, and form; I find them absolutely repulsive. So much so, that even the tiniest hint of banana--real or artificial flavor--completely ruins the taste of whatever it's in and I will not eat it. (Ironically I like most other fruit, with the exception of melons.)

So I guess my favorite brand would be one that makes plastic fruit. ...Or maybe Rare bananas--you know, the ones in the DKC games?

I really like BriGuy's. Too bad it's small. Chup's is awesome, too.

...Holy snaps, I haven't posted in this thread since December 2007!
So, um, I guess I'll link all of mine since then.

Mario Chat / Re: BEST AND WORST IN SERIES? Week 34: Block Design
« on: February 27, 2009, 09:17:30 PM »
Best: Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. It has the best variety of blocks that are also aesthetically pleasing, I think. I also like how SMRPG's "? Blocks" are treasure chests, but they didn't have a lot of other blocks and all of PiT's are cooler.

Worst: Super Mario Land for obvious reasons.

What's wrong with NSMB's?

Every once in a while, my hands will sweat with either (more often with gaming), but it's very rare.  Usually instead my hands get ice cold, especially during really tense/focused moments.

If you create something (photograph, artwork, written work, etc.), it's automatically copyrighted by you, even if you never specifically said it's copyrighted by you. TEM made the picture (and took the photograph from which it was made, I believe); therefore it's © TEM, and he owns the rights to the picture.

@ Boba Fett shirts: TEM, you should sue them. Literally. They're stealing your copyrighted material and profiting from it. A person's original art/work/etc. is automatically copyrighted by him or her unless he or she specifically states otherwise. What they're doing is totally illegal.

Video Game Chat / Re: Things That Made You Poop A Little.

This thread title is disturbing. Anyway...

In Animal Crossing, the first time it looked like Mr. Resetti was erasing the game. I started to freak out when the screen went blank, but then the screen went back to normal and he was like "JUST KIDDING!" (to my great relief). x_x  ...I hate that guy.

Mentioned before, but the final bosses (as they were revealed) in PMTTYD and MLPiT were awesome and totally unexpected. This is why I avoid spoilers at all costs; I like the surprise.

Getting abducted by aliens for the first time in The Sims 2. Poor Mary-Sue Pleasant probably...defecated herself...more than I did, though.
While abductions have become much more common for me to witness, and they don't freak me out anymore (actually, I like them now), recently I was totally shocked when a part-alien kid got abducted an in-game hour after he age-transitioned to teen, while his birthday party was still going. I thought that was awesome. The kid got a positive memory of it, too. Knowledge Sims, lollolool.

[Post about graphics]
I'm inclined to agree with BP here. While I don't judge a game's awesomeness on its graphics, awesome games with lame or mediocre graphics (even if they were good at the time) make me wish there'd be a remake with better ones to make it even more awesome.

I do like NES SMB's music better than SMAS's, though. I think it's more catchy.

On another note, YES! Animaniacs is awesome, and while I'm not that fond of Batman, I loved Superman: The Animated Series. While not all cartoons were great, after Animaniacs ended, cartoons went majorly downhill. (Anyone remember Hysteria? *Shudder*) Now most cartoons basically look and seem about the same to me--within each genre, of course.

I always found the arcade game super easy, while the SBJS insanely difficult. I almost always get 9 Beans with the arcade, and even when I don't do super fantastic, I still get at least 6 Beans. That's a lot better than SBJS because, for one, it's more total beans, and for two, SBJS is all or nothing.

...So I say arcade's the most efficient method. But that's just me.

Good luck with the project. I wouldn't have the patience for it, and I'm someone who tries to get 100% completion (and high stats if possible) in games. X_x

On bosses in general, Pocket Chomps, hands down. Those are pretty fantastic.
I also use Bro/Ice Flowers and Shells a lot (on both bosses and regular enemies), but Shells only work on ground enemies. Mix Flowers are awesome, but I use those more in battles with multiple enemies/things to attack. Plus they're expensive or harder to come by. I use Smash Eggs every once in a while (took me a while to get the hang of them), but pretty much never use the rest of the items.

Typically my tactic for bosses is to use Bro/Ice Flowers to lower the enemy's stats, then use Pocket Chomps. <3

I'm usually subtle about it, too. Every once in a while I'll add a teal-text comment/warning at the bottom of a post, but usually I don't.

Thanks, CrossEyed. :]  Though I'm not back for good.

Yeah man, changing your name after establishing it is totally lame.

Here's mine. This is the "user name" thread I'll always remember/consider as "the original".

No, the mods who do care just aren't very active, if at all. Myself included. Or they don't read every thread--again, myself included. And just because I "care," it doesn't mean I'm abusing my power.
I think that word would be on the censored list if it weren't appropriate to use in certain contexts (talking about the place, as opposed to using it as an intensifier or curse). That context was an inappropriate one. But the word itself isn't really the problem I have; it's that I've been seeing you swear in your posts pretty frequently, even if they are minor words.

Please don't use the "Christian card". I don't mean to be Pharisaical about it, but I would think that as a Christian, one should desire to keep his or her speech pure. I know slip-ups happen, and we're forgiven and whatnot, but to intentionally continue to use such words... It bothers me. Maybe it's a pet peeve, whatever, but I still find it disrespectful. (Actually, casual swearing bothers me more than swearing in anger, if it's not aimed at someone.)

However, just because others swear and post inappropriate stuff doesn't make it okay or justify doing it, as well. (I do correct it from anyone, if I notice it.)

Just to reiterate:
  • No deliberately getting around the censors.
  • No harassing or threatening moderators.
  • No questioning or complaining about moderators' actions.
Now, PL, I know you're not guilty of the second one, but, LD, you're bordering on harassment, among other things (counting past actions, too).
I'm not going to ban you, PL, for reediting the swear, but consider this a stern warning.

I think we've gone on enough about this, so let's get back on topic.
