This game actually looks pretty promising. Old-skool!

Mega Man 9 is coming out for all three systems.

And has everyone seen the footage?

I'm oddly excited for this game. I don't really know why, other than Mega Man rocks. I only played MM1 and MM6 before my NES broke, and I had a MM game for Game Boy but lost it. This was all a long time ago.

Also, Chupperson owned you guys.

More companies should do this, actually. Maybe a Genesis-style Sonic 4 or an NES style Super Mario Bros 4.

Or a C64-style Maniac Mansion 3. But, sadly, that will never happen.

Maniac Mansion. I still play that once every summer just because it's so open ended.

But yeah, tough luck for Nintendo after getting rear ended by Backstabbing-com again.

Pirates have made a NES version of Super Mario World (Super Mario Bros. 4 in Japan), so I'm no sure if Nintendo will consider making an NES-style game of that.

Mega Man Box art shirt from E3
Since its downloadable I have no idea why they made a cover

Chupperson Weird · « **Reply #54 on:** July 18, 2008, 10:29:36 AM »

Because it's awesome and pays tribute to the horrible Mega Man boxes of old! Really, man.

Zarkanthesmasher · « **Reply #55 on:** July 18, 2008, 10:37:36 AM »

This is pure awesome. I'm shocked that Nintendo actually is doing this - and pleasantly supprised. :D

Or maybe a new Zelda or Metroid game in the classic style. There's a ton of possibilities that could be used if this new Megaman does well enough to warrant more new games made like this. :)

If nothing on that cover is in the game, that makes it even cooler.

Srsly, best cover ever.

I especially like how they merged the European and American artwork.

I love how he has a pistol when he already has a arm cannon.

Do you remember a few days ago when I posted about the retro themed Mega Man 9 box art as featured on a T-shirt which a lucky 1up staffer won at E3? Well the good news is now you too could own one of these fashionable garments!
Yup there going up for sale
