Yes, "dead" is a pun on "thread". Shut up.

So, yeah, this Halloween thing I hear kids talking about these days. Thought I should make a thread about it. Tricking, treating, candy, scary movie, scary game, costume and pumpkin discussion goes here.

And in case anyone's wondering, I'm open to costume suggestions. I'd go as the Poughkeepsie Killer, but no one'd get it.

My friend said he was going as a Chicken McNugget out of randomness. Jokingly, I said he should be a Playboy bunny. Hes going as a Playboy bunny. Hows about being a Chicken McNugget. (Cookie goes to mod that edits this post.)

I just buy candy in November. It's cheaper and often easier to come by.
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?

It's cheaper to buy candy than to walk around the neighborhood a bit (usually) dressed in some sort of costume and get free candy?

I have no idea what I'm doing for a costume yet.

It's cheaper as opposed to buying the candy before Halloween. Besides, your suggestion involves walkingthe people around here don't really give out candy.

If any kids come to my door I'm going to hide behind the counter and hope they don't hear me breathing.

Well, I'll be working the last 4 hours of the store being open on Halloween so I'll probably use my Blue Mage suit or something.
That was a joke.

Go as Chuck Norris and candy will literally* leap into your chosen container.
Also, I once saw a Black Knight costume with detachable arms and leg (Don't ask...?).

*No, I didn't say "literally" to put emphasis on the statement.  I mean Chuck Norris is just uber like that.  But if the real Chuck Norris catches you impersonating him, prepare to be roundhouse-kicked.

I've actually had a plastic Chuck Norris mask since I was roughly 2 years old. That's how I first learned who Chuck Norris was, approx. 20 years before he became internet famous.

I wanted to dress as the Joker this year, but the costume I have in mind requires prep time of one whole Halloween in advance, and by next year it won't even be relevant anymore.

Seriously? A friend of mine went to a thrift store and found a purple suit and had some makeup that made him an amazing Joker in roughly a few hours. He did that for the Dark Knight premiere, even.
That was a joke.

I am thinking of being either one of the magical brooms in the Sorcerers Apprentice (Mickey Mouse cartoon in the original Fantasia) or the W.B. Frog (I remember that cartoon he was in before he was the WB frog. Does he have a real name?)

Other than that, if I can't get costume supplies togehter in time, I may just go with the old standby: dress up like Mario or Toad. I still have pieces of both costumes, so that may work.

His full name is Michigan J. Frog, after one of the songs he sang "The Michigan Rag".

I received some fake vines w/ wisteria flowers from a garage sale, and ever since I've been hoping to get a small trellis to weave it through.  Not only would it work as a Halloween costume, but it could also liven up a barren corner of my room.  But most importantly, I could use it as camouflage when spying/stalking/playing hide-and-seek.

However, I don't have a trellis, and I left the wisteria at home because I figured I don't have the courage to (or enough friends to appreciate the fact that I) dress in a costume this halloween.
