What basis or justification is there for an Asteroids movie?

Heck the game wasn't even that good. If they wanna make a video-game-based movie set in space, Metroid deserves it more.

That's a filthy pile of filthy lies and you know it.

Oho, but whose CT labels him a liar? Not mine, man.

Chupperson Weird · « **Reply #5 on:** July 07, 2009, 06:07:23 PM »

How in the heck can you call Asteroids "not that good"?

ShadowBrain · « **Reply #6 on:** July 07, 2009, 06:23:37 PM »

Well, the Metroid movie still hasn't come out.

Heck the game wasn't even that good.

Please list all the videogames better than Asteroids released before 1980.

What does before 1980 have to do with it? I'm not talking about in a certain context, just in general; in general, Asteroids just wasn't that great.

Is this guy serious?

Am I being trolled?

ShadowBrain · « **Reply #10 on:** July 07, 2009, 07:39:10 PM »

When has game quality ever had anything to do with the quality of a movie based on it? If anything, there's an inverse relationship.

Turtlekid1 · « **Reply #11 on:** July 07, 2009, 08:11:45 PM »

Aw, heck, ShadowBrain has a point. This could be an excellent movie.

Lizard Dude · « **Reply #12 on:** July 07, 2009, 08:50:25 PM »

Yeah, but there's still a problem here: Turtlekid1 said Asteroids wasn't good.

WarpRattler · « **Reply #13 on:** July 07, 2009, 08:56:18 PM »

Lizard Dude, remember what games Turtlekid does like. He probably can't handle something as awesome or as difficult as an arcade shoot-'em-up.

He probably doesn't like Raiden Fighters either.

You play as a little space ship that rotates around and shoots rocks. Other than the nostalgic factor, there's not much there to make it good.
